Drive through Instagram
Nothing lets you know you’re down under faster that a good bit of slang, Australians love themselves some local vernacular. It’s endearing and one of the many reasons I like it here. Just add an ‘a’ or an ‘o’ to the end of your favourite word, place, or past-time as a general rule, shorten the rest and you’re well on the way to understanding Australian English.
‘Brekky’, of course meaning breakfast, was spotted on a drive through sign, walking down the great Beaufort Street in Perth, Western Australia.
